Over adelbrieven gesproken.

There is a nearly two-century gap between the death of Johan Sebastian Bach and the birth of Salvatore Sciarrino, but when these masters’ names adorn a single playbill, it promises a perfect understanding. In Sciarrino’s solos for flute, the spirit of the Baroque is never far away. Toshiyuki Shibata and Karin De Fleyt know this all too well. As an inspired traverso player, Toshiyuki Shibata has breathed new life into numerous Baroque compositions. For her part, Karin De Fleyt’s flute playing caused the great Stockhausen to catch his breath. Speaking of nobility. Bach and Sciarrino are in the best of hands.
