Als de lente eraan komt, bekruipt ons altijd de lust om enigszins voortijdig die onsterfelijke openingszin van Herman Gorters gedicht Mei van stal te halen. Vooruit dan maar: ‘Een nieuwe lente en een nieuw geluid’. Springsounds heet dat op het conservatorium. Studenten uit de instrument-, kamermuziek- en zangklassen brengen dan immers de klinkende resultaten van hun voorjaarsarbeid. Met twee concerten per dag en maar liefst zeventien klassen die zich presenteren, mag u verzekerd zijn van een gevarieerd aanbod ontluikende luister.
As spring hopefully hints at its pending arrival, we inevitably feel a premature urge to pick up that immortal opening line of Herman Gorter’s poem, ‘May’: ‘A new spring and a new sound’. Springsounds is what the conservatory calls it. Students from the instrumental, chamber music and vocal classes present the resounding results of their early spring work. With two concerts per day and no fewer than 17 classes presenting their work, we can be assured of a varied range of budding splendour.
